Each year some of the houseguests who were evicted before jury are given the chance to battle their way back into the house. Since the schedule was quickened by Megan’s self-eviction, this year’s battle back is already here!
Last year’s Battle Back competition was also in a showdown formant, but the evictees took each other one-on-one. This year’s battle back was done in three separate rounds. The first round was all four evictees going against each other. The first two to finish would move onto the second round. The major twist was that a current houseguest would be given the chance to halt the return.
Battle Back is the newest twist that allowed the first five evicted houseguests to battle each other, with the winner of the fifth and final round to gain the ability to rejoin the house and be given a second chance at the $500,000.

The winner of the first Battle Back competition of the first and second evicted would move on to face the third evicted. Whoever won that round would move onto face the fourth evicted, and so on and so forth until the final round where they were to face off against the fifth evicted, Tiffany, who only has to win a single round to earn her way back into the house!
The Battle Back competition episode got it’s own special air date on Friday, July 22nd. Being that the final competition couldn’t take place until after Thursday’s eviction, meant that we were likely to have the usual extended downtime when a special episode is being prerecorded.
CBS has confirmed that there will be an extended downtime this week while this competition is being played and recorded. The exact date of that downtime is currently unknown, but it is possible that the live feeds will simply not return after Thursday’s eviction and we’ll have to wait until after Friday’s episode.
