For only the second time since the show’s creation, we’re going to get a new season of Big Brother that doesn’t only air during the summer, and for the first time ever, the show will be exclusively on CBS All Access.
Big Brother 19 will begin soon after the finale of Big Brother 18 and will be a 10 week season, which is shorter than a usual season is. The CBS All Access only version will be getting produced by the same people who make the original version and we’ll be getting a whole new set of houseguests.
We don’t have much information beyond that. CBS still hasn’t made any official comments about the new show, but we’ll be sure to update this post with any as soon as they do. THR was the first to break the story. It’ll be interesting to see just how they’re going to deal with the house since they won’t have much time to change anything since the additional season is set to begin so quickly after the premiere of Big Brother 18.
Big Brother 19 will become the first ever competition-based reality TV show to be exclusively on a streaming service. There are many variables yet to be detailed as to how the episodes will work with the live feeds, but more information will come as CBS officially announces and shares further details with us. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more information about the new fall season of Big Brother.
Update: CBS has confirmed that a new “Digital Edition” of Big Brother that’ll be exclusive to CBS All Access is coming. They haven’t gone into any detail, just confirmed that it’s happening. Read about it here.
